In SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform 4.1 SP1, a “404 Missing page error” occurs when Information Steward user launches the “Information Steward” application from BI Launch Pad. Cannot access Information Steward from Business Intelligence Launch Pad interface.
Environment SAP Information Steward
Cause The issue has been identified and logged under Problem Report ID ADAPT01686944.
Resolution This issue has been addressed in BIP or IPS 4.1 SP1 Patch 1. Workaround: Apply one of the following methods to correct the webutil.jar for Information Steward. Method 1: After each wdeploy or new installation, do the following steps to replace the webutil.jar of Information Steward with the correct webutil.jar from BOE: a. On Windows command line window, run the following commands: move C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat6\work\Catalina\localhost\BOE\eclipse\plugins\webpath.ISLauncher\web\WEBINF\lib\webutil.jar C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat6 \work\Catalina\localhost\BOE\eclipse\plugins\webpath.ISLauncher\web\WEB-INF\lib\webutil.jar.bk copy C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat6\work\Catalina\localhost\BOE\eclipse\plugins\ webpath.CmcApp\web\WEBINF\lib\webutil.jar C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat6 \work\Catalina\localhost\BOE\eclipse\plugins\webpath.ISLauncher\web\WEB-INF\lib\webutil.jar b. Restart tomcat. Note: • This step is required after each occurrence of wdeploy. • If the deployment is on Linux/Unix, use the Linux/Unix command mv for move and cp for copy respectively.
Method 2: Follow the following steps to repackage ISLauncher.jar with the correct webutil.jar: a. Create a temporary directory (e.g. c:\boe_temp\) b. run the following commands in command line under newly created directory.
