[email protected] Abstract Anthropometry is the external measurement of morphological traits of human beings. Accurate measurement of anthropometric dimension is essential for precisely designing of various tools, equipment and workplace in order to achieve proper matching between human and his/her work-elements. Therefore, standardization of measurement procedures is crucial for minimizing random error and biasness in measurements. The technical error of measurement (TEM) and reliability coefficient (R) are most widely accepted for estimation of error margin and accuracy in anthropometry measurements. Hence, in the present study an attempt has been made to demonstrate how intra- and inter-observer TEM and R for anthropometric data can be achieved, based on data collection from 20 male agricultural workers from the Kamrup district of Assam, India. For this purpose, a set of 25 anthropometric data were collected twice for each participant in two consecutive days by two observers. Statistical techniques have been discussed by analyzing and interpreting the collected data in terms of accuracy of the within-observer (intra-observer) and between-observer (inter-observer) with TEM, %TEM and R.
