Abstract Text: Urban mobility wıthın the cıty from one locatıon to another is based on economic avaılabılıty. In the literature, commonly it is evidenced that there are shared properties of life quality, as well as differentiated ones based on its context. The aim of the paper is to examine the impact of the house production based on squatter housing demolition on the urban squatters. In other words, removal of the dwellersquatters and their relocation to the social housing affects their life quality after the removal. These houses are produced by the Housing and squatter Housing Directorate of The Municipality. The role of housing quality in the life quality has been accepted by the scholars, who claim that there are many and limitless factors that influence the life quality. The final aim is to increase the productivity level and usefullness of the imlementation of this housing policy, by designing an operational model. Between 19882013 as part of the squatter transformation studies, 5 thousand squatter house have been eliminated and 11thousand new social housing is produced. A field study will be conducted in the urban İstanbul Greater Municipal boundaries. In its design, life quality indicators which are selected are the following: demographic (family life,age,etc), sheltering (housing, a place to stay), personal welfare, health, environment (living space, urban infrastructure), social (neighborhood relations, relations between the kins), economical (work, income, obtaining loans), participation (municipal services),education, transformation, and security. The expected results are to improve the conditions of the social housing environments as well as theurban services of the municipalities, for the sustainable groth of the cities.. The postoccupancy evaluation of the several housing environments in Istanbul are selected according tpo which the displaced families could be traced to compare their former dwellings and the recent social housing. I am a student (Phd)of Istanbul Technical University. I have been studying on squatter housing demolition and social housing production nearly for 10 years. I work for İstanbul Greater Municipality for 12 years. I saw many demolition and dweller squatters and affects of the social housing on their life quality after the removal. So, I wanted to search and find a way to increase the productivity level by designing an operational model.
