In addition to hosting 34 cars this year, we are thrilled that Formula Hybrid will be headlining as engineering innovators at the Indianapolis 500 Centennial celebration’s “Emerging Tech Day.” (Formula Hybrid turns 5 and Indy turns 100!) Formula Hybrid teams will showcase their cars and compete in an autocross event at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway May 7, 2011. The Formula Hybrid International Competition is the result of the hard work of many people at Dartmouth and beyond. We are grateful to all our sponsors, judges, event volunteers, and supporters. Most of all, we are indebted to the enthusiasm of all the students who have taken up the Formula Hybrid challenge of developing energy-efficient high-performance hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric vehicles. vent

Founded and organized by Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth, Formula Hybrid is a member of the SAE Collegiate Design Series and is endorsed by the IEEE. Formula Hybrid continues to gain momentum. From six teams and 60 students in 2007 to this year’s 34 teams and 500 students from five countries, Formula Hybrid is widening the road to energy-efficient automotive engineering. We are already planning the 2012 Formula Hybrid Competition. We look forward to seeing you there!

And Fusion is the most fuel-efficient in America, which is a pretty big place, with a lot of potential competition. Or not much competition at all, depending on how you’re measuring it.

Either way, it’s definitely good news for Ford, for Fusion and for its drivers.

Well, now that we think about it, the 2011 Camry Hybrid, for one. Fusion beats it by a full 10 mpg in the city.

OK, so sure, Camry probably isn’t one of Fusion’s biggest fans. But, since Fusion is a hybrid, let’s hope we can find common ground in the fact that
