Announcing Two New Initiatives
We are pleased to announce two new features that we believe will increase the role of Human Development as a primary source for discourse around cutting-edge issues in the field. We also anticipate that these new features will enhance the ability of subscribers and readers to participate in that discourse. The Editor’s Corner In the next issue we will launch the ‘Editor’s Corner’. The Editor’s Corner will lead off each issue. This segment of the journal will feature an invited brief essay in the format of an opinion editorial that will address a topic of controversy for the field of human development. Essays will be 300–500 words in length, or about one journal page. The first Editor’s Corner will feature an essay on the growing movement to reduce issues of morality to inherited unconscious processes rather than constructed moral knowledge. Readers who wish to suggest topics for the Editor’s Corner may do so by sending an email to the Editor at
[email protected]. Letters to the Editor We invite subscribers and readers of the journal to send in letters to the editor in response to essays in the Editor’s Corner as well as to articles, commentaries and essay reviews that appear in Human Development. The letters will be reviewed by the Editors, and those that are selected will be posted on the journal web page www.karger.com/journals/hde and sent by e-mail as a pdf file to those who wish to receive them in the comfort of their own mail box. The letters will allow readers to engage in dialogue with authors and one another over issues raised in the journal. They will be sent out every other week to maintain a dialogue in-between journal issues. If you wish to submit a letter to the editor, send it by email to HDletter@uic. edu. To participate in this new feature of the journal and receive the letters to the editor directly, please send your email address and full name to
[email protected]. We are excited about these new features of the journal and look forward to the discourse and debate that we anticipate they will generate.
