DEAR FRIENDS, Year after year volunteers say to me, “you must be so proud of all you’ve done…” and every time I remind people that, “it’s not just me, it’s what we have done.” I never take for granted that our true velocity and impact comes because of people like you supporting and leading the way. 2016 has been a tremendous year for Living Lands & Waters (LL&W). We will hit some amazing milestones for our organization, but more importantly for our rivers. This May, just nine short years since the inception of the MillionTrees Project, we celebrated the planting of our one-millionth tree at Riverdale Elementary School in Port Byron, IL. I’m excited to announce that we’re not done, this program will continue and we’re aiming to plant another million! You probably know that we added a John Deere excavator to our fleet this year. This has resulted in our ability to exponentially increase our capacity to make an impact on the clean-up of our Nation’s Rivers. Because of the Deere excavator, we were able to remove over 200,000 pounds of garbage from an approximately 20-mile stretch of the Ohio River in the Cincinnati area in just 29 days -- -setting a new record for LL&W. How we measure our success will continue to evolve as our opportunities and challenges do and this includes our operations. As of the beginning of October, we’ve hosted 82 river cleanups, 47 educational workshops, 8 invasive species removal efforts and 8 tree plantings/nursery events. On top of all that, LL&W will reach our 1,000th river cleanup this year. Thanks to our crew, board, volunteers and supporters, I am beyond proud of what we have accomplished together. I’m enthusiastic about the future and our potential impact on our rivers for many years to come. On behalf of the LL&W team and our rivers, thank you for being so great to us! I hope you will consider continuing your support of our mission to cleanup America’s rivers! Sincerely,

Chad Pregracke Founder & President Living Lands & Waters
