April 8/9 BIG FAITH Jason Strand
Having big faith doesn’t mean we try harder at being more optimistic about a circumstance. It doesn’t mean that by praying more, we’ll have more faith. No, our faith is built over time. But each of us can be filled with big faith, and we can become people who believe God can do anything.
Discussion Questions 1. Read Mark 6:1-6 and Luke 7:1-10. Would God be amazed by your faith or would he be amazed by your lack of it? Why? 2. How have you stepped out in faith before? What happened as a result of that? 3. Read Hebrews 11. Which story of great faith resonates with you the most? Why? What is your faith like, in comparison? 4. When you stand before God someday, will he say, “Well done, good and faithful servant, you lived the safest life possible”? Or will you stand before him and have him be amazed at your faith? What are 1-2 steps you can take this week to start having bigger faith?
Challenge Read a chapter from the Bible every day this week, meditate on it, and pray, “God, give me a bigger view of who you are and what you can do in my life.” Write down what God reveals to you throughout the week to remind you of who he is. The book of Psalms is a great place to start. Chapters 91, 103, 130—you really can’t go wrong.
Commit to Memory Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Ephesians 3:20
