Abstract Exporting high resolution graphics from MATLAB for document/manuscript publication.

Plot the Graphs Plot the graphs (one or more) on a Figure Window.

Edit the Properties of the Figure Window Edit the properties of the figure window by opening the 'Property Editor' found from the 'View' menu of the Figure Window (See Figure 1). VIEW  Property Editor

Change the Background color of the Figure Window Edit the properties of the figure window by opening the 'Property Editor' found from the 'View' menu of the Figure Window (See Figure 1). Then Click on the Gray Background.

Add Labels & Edit Line Styles (color, thickness, etc.) Click on the plot window (somewhere in the around the lines). Add the X-axis and Y-axis labels. Then click a line (for example the red one). You can edit the color, add a diamond (etc.), change the thickness of the line, and the line type (dotted, dashed, solid, etc.). Use only dark colors (Red, Blue, Black, Green – dark green not light green, etc.).

Export Setup Now click on the button Export Setup, or you can go to FILE menu  Export Setup. You will see the screen:

You need to go to at least the SIZE and RENDERING options under properties on the left side.

Set the WIDTH and HEIGHT to the desired sizes. Next select RENDERING. Change colorspace to CMYK Uncheck Custom Color Select (check) Custom Render (vector format) Set RESOUTION to 600 dpi (this is the most important part) Uncheck Show UICONTROLS. Keep axis limits Click EXPORT button. This will produce a 600 DPI image. (Choose either .EPS or .TIF).
