Installing NX 8.5 on Microsoft Windows Operating Systems The following process is explained in steps. Explaination is provided in steps where necessary. But before starting please make sure that 1- You have atleast 6 GB free space in C: drive. 2- You are connected through VPN, Eduroam or through Cable net to the NTNU network. The network should be stable. A cable connected network is more preferable. 3- You have administrative rights over the computer you are installing. 4- The first time when you try to access the server iipm-plm1.ivt.ntnu.no, you are asked for username and password. You need to save your password otherwise the session expires and connection is lost to the server after a particular amount of time. Provide your username as win.ntnu.no\username and then password.
Step 1:Installing NX8.5 Please browse to the location \\iipm-plm1.ivt.ntnu.no\UGS_INSTALL\UGS_Install\NX8.5\1. Base Installasjon and then enter the appropriate folder based on your OS (x86 or 64).Click on the file called Launch.exe. The installation process will start. During the installation please make sure that you install it to the location C:\UGS\NX85 and that there is no space in the folder names. When asked for the license server please provide the details are

Step 2:Installing Documentation Please browse to the location \\iipm-plm1.ivt.ntnu.no\ugs_install\UGS_Install\NX8.5\2. Dokumentasjon\nxugdoc-8.5.0\dvdrom_ugdoc085 and click on the Launch file. Select your appropriate OS type (x86 or x64) and continue. It should be able to install your documentation to C:\UGS\NX85.

[email protected] Your bundle information is stored in the environment variable called UGS_LICENSE_BUNDLE and it should have the value ACD20,ACD21 You can reach to the environment variable by Right Click on my “My Computer” and selecting “Properties” -> and then selecting “Advanced System Settings”. A window will open and here you should see a button called “Environment Variables”. You will set up all of the variables in System variables section.
