Background & AIM The International Conference on FPGA Reconfiguration for General-Purpose Computing 2017 (FPGA4GPC) focusses on novel work in the field of reconfigurable systems optimized for the use in a general-purpose environment. In contrast to reconfigurable systems in High Performance Computing (HPC) the requirements are very different and flexibility is more important than speed. Also, a good operating system support is essential for easy system integration and system development. The aim of the conference is to provide a forum for intensive discussion and presentation of work in the field of reconfigurable system in General-Purpose Computing (GPC). It brings together researchers from different fields, such as Operating System Development, FPGA Development with and without Partial Runtime Reconfiguration and Software development for FPGA Accelerator Hardware. Conference Topics The topics of the conference will include, but are not limited to: I
Reconfigurable architectures with focus on general-purpose computing and partial runtime reconfiguration
I
Network on Chips, supporting the use in a general-purpose environment
I
Operating system extensions, supporting reconfigurable systems (no SDK)
I
Full operating systems for reconfigurable systems
I
Standard communication infrastructures between Operating System and reconfigurable components
I
Virtualization architectures using reconfiguration
I
New FPGA architectures and technologies for optimized runtime reconfiguration support
I
Applications for Partial Runtime Reconfigurable Systems
I
Software using FPGA Accelerator Hardware
I
Tools simplifying the development of FPGA designs
Paper Submission The conference working language is English. Participants are requested to electronically submit full papers of their work through our paper submission system. Papers must not exceed 6 pages. Submission guidelines and instructions are available on the website of the conference. Submit only original work, not previously published or copyrighted. Prospective authors are expected to submit only their own original works. Papers that violate IEEE’s publication principles may be rejected. Paper Acceptance Accepted and presented papers will be published in the conference proceedings. If they are accepted by IEEE for R Digital Library, they are copyrighted to IEEE. inclusion in the IEEE Xplore Location The conference will take place at the Helmut Schmidt University in Hamburg, Germany. The Helmut Schmidt University is one of two universities of the federal armed forces of Germany. Therefore, most of the students are officers in the German military or the military of allied nations. But the University is also open to civil students, often with an industrial scholarship. Hamburg is a large city in the north of Germany. It is well connected to the world by an international airport, a high speed train station, motorways and an open sea harbour.

Hamburg is also an important cultural and industrial location in Germany. Many different muscials are played in Hamburgs musical theaters, for example Lion King, Rocky and the Phantom of the Opera. Companies like Airbus, Lufthansa, Deutsche Bahn and Deutsche Telekom have branches here. Accomodation The Helmut Schmidt University is a campus university. Therefore, we are able to provide a limited amout of student rooms on campus for early bird participants at cheap costs.
