Presentation plan 1. Education reform 2017 in Poland – calendary and main assumptions.

2. System of education in Poland – legal framework. 3. Characteristics of primary and lower secondary schools in the Poznan agglomeration (leading body, spatial accessibility). 4. Changes in the school network in the Poznan agglomeration under the influence of the new reform – case studies: city of Poznan and the municipality Suchy Las.

Calendary of education reform  2016/2017 - abolition of compulsory schooling for 6-yearold children,

 2016/2017- elimination of the test at the end of primary school,  2017/2018 - new educational curriculum,  from 2017/2018 - changes in school funding,

 2017/2018-2023/2024 - change the system from a threetier school system (with elementary, middle, and high schools) to two levels.
