GRC FUNDING PROGRAMS

Carl Storm Underrepresented Minority (CSURM) Fellowships GRC offers Carl Storm Underrepresented Minority (CSURM) Fellowships, which were established by the GRC Board of Trustees to honor Director Emeritus Carl Storm's many years of service to GRC and to support his commitment to increasing diversity at the Conferences. Attendees must apply for these fellowships. For more information, please visit the Minority Diversity Initiative page. ___________________________________________________________________________ Below are two Chair-nominated funding programs. If you meet all criteria and are interested in the funding program please inform the conference chair directly as they are responsible for nominating you as a recipient of the award.

Carl Storm International Diversity (CSID) Fellowship Nominees for the CSID Fellowship program must be graduate students or post docs who are citizens of and currently reside/work in one of the eligible countries noted below. An eligible nominee may hold citizenship from one country and reside/work in a different country; however, both countries must be eligible as defined below.  Citizen of: Citizens of China (Taiwan & HK), Russia, Ukraine, India, Africa, Mexico, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri-Lanka, Central America or South America  Currently work at an institution in: China, Russia, Ukraine, India, Africa, Mexico, Central America or South America The amount of the CSID Fellowship award is $1,250. Funding is limited for each session and awarded on a first-come, first serve basis, based on eligibility. CSID Fellowships are limited to one award per Conference. Previous recipients of the CSID Fellowship are not eligible. The Conference Chair must submit a request for a CSID Fellowship for a qualified candidate. Requests from a conference attendee will not be accepted.

Predominantly Undergraduate Institution (PUI) Fund Support from the PUI Fund ($600 each award) is available for two (2) research-active scientists from a PUI per conference. A PUI is defined as one where undergraduate enrollment exceeds graduate enrollment and where no more than an average of 10 doctorate degrees are awarded per year (NSF definition). This support is limited and is available on a first-come, first served basis. Graduate students and previous recipients of funding through this program are not eligible. The Conference Chair must submit a request for support from the PUI Fund for a qualified candidate. Requests from a conference attendee will not be accepted.
