Launch the Card Swipe Device POC Application Save the RAR file locally to the computer that you want to test the card swipe device on. Extract the TWBS Magtek Reader.RAR file to a local directory. Navigate into the extracted folder, and in to the Release folder. Right click on the MagTekCardReading.exe application file and run as an administrative user. To Test a Keyboard Emulator Swipe Device Please Note – KeyBoard Emulator swipe devices are also usually connected to the machine by USB port. The term USB Device refers to the device itself, not the method by which its connected to the computer.

If the card swipe device is not currently connected to the computer, connect the device. To test the device itself, o Open MS WordPad. o Click in the WordPad screen. o Swipe the card. If the device is functioning properly, the card data should appear in WordPad as if it were typed by the user. Select the Read from KeyBoard Emulator option button. Click in the Data from Reader field. Swipe the card through your device. The data for the card should appear in the Data from Reader field. Click the Process button.

If the device is being read properly, o the credit card # will appear in the CC Number field o the card holder’s name will appear in the Holder Name field o the card exp. Date will appear in the Exp. Date field If the data was not parsed correctly into the fields, then your device will not function correctly with the TWBS Credit Card Processing application. The connected devices list will show entries for any peripherals connected to the computer. The easiest way to identify your card swipe device is to have the device disconnected, review the listed items, then connect the swipe device to see which entry in the list is new.

Select your device by clicking on the far left of the row that contains your card swipe device. Click the Choose Device button. Click the Read button. Wait a moment.
