Message from the General and Program Chairs It is a distinct pleasure to welcome all the participants to Montpellier, France. The IEEE Computer Society Annual Symposium on VLSI (ISVLSI) continues its tradition as the premier forum for cross-cutting research in system architecture, digital, analog and mixed-signal (AMS) circuits, computer-aided design (CAD) and verification, testing, reliability, fault-tolerance and post-CMOS technologies. Over almost two decades the ISVLSI has been a unique forum promoting multidisciplinary research and new visionary approaches in the area of VLSI. The ISVLSI brings together leading scientists and researchers from academia and industry. ISVLSI has established a reputation in bringing well-known international scientists as speakers, and this trend will continue. The primary goal of ISVLSI 2015 is to present the highest quality technical program to its attendees. A key element in attaining this goal has been the peer evaluation and selection process. To ensure quality review the papers were assigned to one of 6 tracks, namely the following: (1) Digital Circuits and FPGA based Designs (DCF) track, (2) Computer-Aided Design and Verification (CAD) track, (3) Emerging and Post-CMOS Technologies (EPT) track, (4) System Design and Security (SDS) track, (5) Testing, Reliability, and Fault-Tolerance (TRF) track, and (6) Analog and Mixed-Signal Circuits (AMS) track. The appropriate tracks were largely self-selected by the authors during the submission process. In a very few instances, the papers were re-assigned to a more appropriate track by the technical program chairs in consultation with the track chairs. A total of 136 submission were received for regular session consideration and 40 submissions were received for theme based special sessions to match the recent trend in VLSI circuit and system design. The submissions for ISVLSI 2015 were from 43 different countries from various parts of the globe with 3 highest number of submissions from India, France, and USA. The papers were mostly reviewed by program committee members in respective tracks. The technical program committee members sought external expert opinion as ad-hoc or sub-reviewers in many cases for the evaluation and final disposition of papers. The submissions were reviewed by 94 program committee members and 59 external or ad-hoc reviewers. On an average, each paper received 3 reviews. This resulted in the technical program featuring a total of 34 technical sessions which includes the following: 19 regular sessions, 13 special sessions, 1 poster session, and 1 Ph.D. forum session. The technical program also includes 2 keynote addresses, 1 per day, from eminent speakers from Industry. The 2 keynotes will be delivered by Heike Riel from IBM, Zurich, Switzerland and Tanya Nigam from GLOBALFOUNDRIES, USA. We would like to thank the Technical Program Committee and all the reviewers for their dedication and hard work in preparing the final ISVLSI program. We gratefully thank all our authors, speakers, and session chairs for making ISVLSI 2015 a premier technical conference. Putting together ISVLSI 2015 has been a team effort. We thank the ISVLSI 2015 organizing Committee as well as ISVLSI Steering Committee for their diligent work and enduring support in putting together this program. We are immensely thankful to the technical committee on VLSI (TCVLSI) of IEEE-CS chaired by Saraju P. Mohanty who provided travel support from 4 student attendee as well as a best paper award. ISVLSI has been endorsed by TCVLSI for IEEE-CS sponsorship. Finally, a special word of thanks goes to all of you, our conference attendees in Montpellier. We have worked hard to bring you a balanced, solid technical conference as well as provide a forum for informal exchanges during coffee breaks and the receptions. We wish you an enjoyable experience at the ISVLSI 2015 and look forward to future editions of ISVLSI.
