The book is Ok so far. I blew through Python Day One without any issues. In this book I was first disappointed in the install process for Python modules. What looked like custom URL's with hosted modules are really just links to the standard locations that free web-based tutorials use. I'm not an expert in the matter, but I've seen people point out their are security risks from trusting PIP. I think it is reasonably to expect the author to be responsible for security risks and solve for them or at the very least call them out. Further into chapter 2 I ran into 1 typo and 1 omission that killed my evening. The typo was not that big of a deal, just a missing "/" in a url. The second issue took awhile to troubleshoot. There was a missing statement that probably should have been on page 29. divContainer needs to be repopulated from the current URL. If you're a professional coder this might have been easier to catch. I'm an amateur and it took me awhile to troubleshoot it.. I really wish all coding books had forums to handle these kinds of problems. I've found that immensely helpful in other books I've gone through. It's a lot easier to look past problems like these when you have an immediate resource to turn to. With chapter based forums usually only one of the readers goes through the heartache of full troubleshooting on typos or mistakes.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. I've spent time teaching beginner software classes so I know crap when I see it. Luckily I got this on Kindle Unlimited so I'll just try another Python book. If you're new to Python, and have no experience with coding, you may like the first book. I found it very clear and useful. The book cuts out a lot of the filler you find in many programming books and gets you to learn very early on by doing rather than just reading. This book continues the tradition and presents additional content more indepth, but still in a very easy to read fashion. I was pleasently surprised by the authour's earnest request for feedback and also happy to see that the feedback from his customers was incorporated into the new book. I recommended the previous book to those I knew who were wanting a quick and painless introduction to programming and I will definately recommend the new book to build on top of those skills.
