Dec 17, 2017 - Enjoy the evening of great food, great company and active bidding! ... ONE card will be drawn and the win
September 28, 2017 Dear Friends: Did you receive this program on your phone or printed? Which did you enjoy more – the Selfie Stop or Boomerang Block? Did a variety of options enhance your Inclusion Fusion experience? We hope the answer is YES! Our goal was to bring our theme “Leading through Generations” to life by providing YOU, customized experiences to maximize your enjoyment. In our multi-generational society, it’s important to find ways to work together, respect the unique value each generation brings to the table, and to tailor our approach to achieve full engagement. EDI is a multi-generational organization and as we reflect on our theme, we are reminded of the vision and commitment of our co-founders, Vanna Novak and the late Ted Yamamura. A vision to build a community of diverse global leaders, through culturally tailored leadership programs. What started as a program with 11 participants in 1994 has now grown to a community of over 1000 alumni! Tonight, we honor our humble beginnings, celebrate our accomplishments and look forward to the endless possibilities of EDI’s future and empowering the next generation of leaders. We are extremely proud of our amazing alums and the leadership they demonstrate in their companies and communities every day. By bidding and participating in all activities, you are providing the necessary resources for us to continue tailoring the EDI experience. To evolve our programs, engage new companies, develop new offerings and grow our alumni base. On behalf of the Board of Directors, Alumni Ambassador Board, Honorary Board, staff and volunteers, thank you for your unwavering support and your commitment to building a community of diverse global leaders. Enjoy the evening of great food, great company and active bidding! Sincerely,
Marci Nakano

César Amaral,
Master of Ceremonies, EDI Class of 2012 César Cuauhtémoc Amaral Bernal was born in Tepic, Nayarit in Mexico and immigrated to the U.S. with his family at the age of seven. He studied at Roosevelt High School in Seattle, where he played lead trumpet in the nationally acclaimed jazz band. César received his Bachelor of Music from the University of Washington in 2003. After graduating from UW, César dedicated a decade of his professional life to a career in banking, rising to the position of Assistant Vice President and Manager for the Key Bank National Association. In August of 2014, he resigned from his tenured banking career in order to fulfill his life’s work. As Founder and Chief Believe Officer at MX360 Fitness, César has developed a culturally-authentic health and fitness regime for Latinos. MX360 Fitness was inspired by the passing of his mother from diabetes in 2012, and his love for Mexican heritage and culture. He also established a non-profit in honor of his late mother, The Ana Rosa Foundation, its mission promoting a healthy lifestyle by walking 30-minutes per day and eating healthy meals every three hours. Music continues to shape César’s life through his family band, Banda Vagos, a staple of the Latino community in the Northwest since 2000. Banda Vagos has performed at numerous weddings, quinceñeras, state fairs, yearly sporting events at Safeco and CenturyLink field, plus many other social gatherings.
Graham Crow, Auctioneer
For the past 26 years, Graham Crow has been working with schools, charities and organizations all over the United States and Canada, raising more than 70 million dollars through benefit auctions. His philosophy of encouraging people to “spend more than you had planned, but to feel really good about doing so,” has made him one of the most sought-after auctioneers in North America. A long-time friend of EDI co-founder Ted Yamamura, Graham is delighted to return for his fifth year as our Inclusion Fusion Auctioneer. 6
Shun Viger,
Featured Appetizer Chef Shun Viger is Fresh Bistro’s powerhouse chef de cuisine. At a young age, he earned his first cooking scar from a hot popcorn kernel. Priding himself in his commitment to good, tasty food, Shun began his professional career working at various local restaurants including Salty’s at Alki, Endolyne Joes, and 0/8 Seafood Grill. While Fresh Bistro is Shun’s second home, you can also find him enjoying pho for lunch at Than Brothers, devouring late-night street tacos with hot sauce, and of course, snacking on popcorn – still a favorite. Shun is a graduate of the South Seattle Community College culinary program.
