Dramatically Reduce Infrastructure Costs The all-silicon architecture of the 6000 delivers unparalleled performance density (1 Million IOPS in 3U) enabling the replacement of multiple racks of legacy disk based storage systems. This results in a dramatic reduction in space, power and cooling. The 6000 series ultra-low latency eliminates the time application servers typically waste “waiting for I/O” from the storage subsystem. This maximizes CPU efficiencies, reduces the need for servers, and dramatically lowers application and database license costs. Achieve Mission Critical Reliability All active components in a 6000 enclosure, from the memory gateways, power supplies, array controllers all the way down to the flash memory modules have built-in, hardware controlled, redundancy and are hot swappable. The 6000 series runs Violin Memory Operating System (vMOS), a flash optimized system software that orchestrates data management, data protection and system control of array operations. At the core of vMOS is Violin’s patented hardware accelerated flash RAID engine (vRAID). In addition to RAID functionality, vRAID ensures continuous optimization of the flash media for extended reliability, endurance and performance.
