Parent Notes:

-Spelling Test and Math Fast Facts test will be on Friday! -Topic 8 Math Assessment will be on Friday! Please review math pages that come home! The more practice they have, the more confident they will be!

WHAT WE’RE LEARNING: -Daily 5 Skill: We will continue working on asking questions while we read, why good readers ask questions, and brainstorm good questions to think about while we read.

-Phonics: We are learning about Bossy r spelled er, ir, ur.

This builds on our focus from last week. Er, ir, and ur all make the r sound.

-Math: We are finishing Topic 8 on Ones and Tens this week.

We will work on using addition to count groups of 10 and leftovers. We will work on grouping items in 10s and add on.

Look Whooo’s having a Birthday this Month:

-SS/Science: Dr. Seuss fun! To celebrate Dr. Seuss’

birthday on March 2, we will be reading some classic stories, creating our own Seuss hats, and making Truffula trees! We won’t be eating actual green eggs and ham but will be enjoying our own treat version from the famous book! It will be a seuss-ical week of science fun!

-Writing: This week we will continue working on How To

pieces. We will tie in some of our Seuss fun to create How To steps. We will work on concentrating on important details, steps, and directions that are required for any how to piece!
