Hello there Mac users, If you would like to access myitlab using your Mac, here’s how you do it.

Before we begin, please note… First of all, Mac users will be logging in using 90-minute sessions (Please don't ask why, I have yet to figure this out). For each 90-minute session you use, you will be given new “Remote Desktop Credentials” (Figure 4). Thus you would have to click and input the new credentials every time your session expires or every time you would like to access our course on myitlab.

Mac Users log in differently To log in, click on “Mac User – Click Here” on www.myitlab.com. A “MAC USER Login/Register” page should appear (Figure 3). Enter your myitlab username and password if you have already registered. After you log in, a “Remote Desktop Credentials” page will be displayed (Figure 4).

Don’t fear, although this page seems foreboding, it is here to give us the “Remote Desktop Credentials” which is just the username and password needed to run the remote sessions for myitlab.

First-time user? First-time users must download the “Remote Desktop Connection Client” software that runs the RDP file. Note that after this software is downloaded and installed on your machine, you would not have to do it again- yay!

So, if this is your first time ever trying to get the RDP file to run, click on the “here” link circled in red on Figure 4. This takes you to a web page that permits you to download the required software to run the RDP file. Select “Remote Desktop” on the website that appears (Figure 5). Under “Available Downloads” select “Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection Client for Mac 2.1.1” and click on 6).

When prompted to enter the “User name” and “Password”, input the “Remote Desktop Credentials” that were generated on this page but don’t worry about the “Domain:” textbox - leave this blank. Then click “OK”. There may be an error message saying that “The server name on the certificate is incorrect”, just ignore it and click (Figure 13). The myitlab login page (Figure 14) should show up. Enter your myitlab username/password…and now you are ready to use myitlab for up to 90 minutes.
