POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT Events Coordinator Professional Advantage and Executive Mentor Programs College of Business Administration The College of Business Administration at Kansas State University seeks an Events Coordinator for the Professional Advantage and Executive Mentor programs. The purpose of this position is to provide event coordination and support to the Professional Advantage and Executive Mentor programs. These programs serve all undergraduate students in the CBA by providing opportunities for professional development. The Events Coordinator will work with the Program Managers and the Program Associate, as well as corporate partners, alumni, and faculty, to design and implement events for students throughout the academic year. These programs offer students opportunities for professional growth, personal enrichment and professional interaction with corporate partners and alumni. Duties will include: Event Management  Coordinate 50+ small and large scale events per academic year for the Professional Advantage and Executive Mentor programs including, but not limited to: Corporate Days, Executive Professor for a Day, distinguished lectures, seminars, networking events, Exec. Mentor tailgate, Exec. Mentor luncheon, and Prof. Adv. Kickoff.  Work with company recruiters to design activities that meet the needs of the Professional Advantage program and offer opportunities for the companies to brand themselves and engage with students in the CBA.  Invite company executives to speak in business classes during designated Professor for a Day weeks/days. Work with CBA faculty to identify appropriate executives to speak in their classes. Connect faculty to speakers in order to determine the topic and format for each class. Host speakers during their visit to campus.  Manage successful execution of events and event logistics including registration, A/V and room set up, catering, hotel accommodations, speaker gifts, follow-up with speakers and faculty, compiling event materials, name tags, parking, maintaining a budget, and student attendance tracking. Personally attend events to ensure successful execution.  Provide information and support to visiting executives and other guests during their speaking engagement.  Assist Program Associate with Professional Development Day and Resume Review events as needed.  Create an event planning process including timelines and checklists to ensure program goals and deadlines are met, expectations of guests and students are clear, and ensure communications are professional, consistent, timely, and accurate.  Process and submit event-related fund use requests. Program Marketing  Work with communications department and student workers to publicize events.  Promote programs to students, maintain event sign-up system, maintain event calendar on website, and monitor student sign-ups for events.  Promote programs and events to classes, clubs, social media and at information tables. Administration  Participate in staff meetings; support college or department initiatives; complete an annual performance evaluation; take part in professional development  Other duties as assigned. The position is a 12-month position and will report to the Director of Professional Advantage.

Qualifications: Education Required - Bachelor’s Degree Experience Required - Experience in event/conference management Other Requirements:  Must have a valid Driver’s License to commute to events  Ability to transport 30 pounds of event materials and set them up  Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings and weekends, as necessary Preferred Qualifications:  Ability to provide exceptional customer service and multitask while balancing the needs of multiple parties, meeting deadlines, and providing a high-quality product  Familiarity with a university setting  Ability to work effectively in a group setting and interact in a professional manner with multicultural and multigenerational audiences, especially college students  Ability to work independently  Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication (written and verbal) skills  Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. Salary: $33,000-$36,000. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
