Condition: The vehicle may exhibit a no start condition after recharging a dead battery, using the vehicle to jump start another vehicle or after disconnecting the battery to perform service work.
Cause:
The steering lock electronic control module may need to be re-initialized.
Correction: The procedure below describes how to perform the re-initialization. • Ensure that the DCC fuse is installed (during shipping or prolonged storage this is removed to prevent parasitic drains). If the DCC fuse was not removed, remove it and reinstall it. • Place the shift lever in the “P” position (if not already done). • Open and close the driver’s side door. This activates the initialization process. • Depress the break pedal. • Press the “Start Stop” switch. • WARNING! The above process interrupts the power system and as such all other systems will also require re-initialization. Systems include (but are not limited to): • Power windows • Parking assistance features • Power doors • VGRS (steering) system
