2009 Mazda 6 Equipped with Keyless Entry

Condition:

The operator of the vehicle may complain of a hard start condition. The technician may observe one or more of the following diagnostic trouble codes stored in the system: - B100B:11 Steering lock unit ground circuit voltage less then threshold - B100C:12 Steering lock unit power circuit voltage higher then threshold - U3000:49 Keyless control module internal malfunction

Cause:

A potential cause for the above conditions is a flaw in the keyless control module software, which makes the module, go into the failsafe mode.

Correction: The manufacturer has updated the module during production so the above problem may not be on all vehicles. Verify that the above condition exists following the manufacturers recommended procedures, and if required replace the keyless control module with part number GSYD-67-5DZG. To determine if the vehicle is in the failsafe mode the red keyless entry warning light and the red push button start light will come on at the same time.
