Condition:

The operator of the vehicle may complain of excessive belt squeal, rough idle, alternator failure and/or battery failures. This will be most prevalent during cool weather (between 0° Celsius and 10° Celsius) or in rainy weather.

Cause:

A potential cause for this is a malfunctioning idle control motor (IAC).

Correction: A new IAC part number 4288298 and O-ring should alleviate this problem. It is vital that a new O-ring be installed with the IAC for proper operation. Follow the manufacturers recommended procedures for changing the IAC.
