On Saturday, April 29, 2017, at approximately 1:43 p.m., San Bruno Police Officers responded to the report of a hit and run collision involving a vehicle and a subject riding a scooter at the intersection of Huntington Avenue and Herman Street in San Bruno. Upon their arrival, Officers located a twenty-one year old female lying in the roadway suffering from significant injuries. The vehicle involved in this collision had fled the scene. The subject riding the scooter was transported to a local hospital for treatment. As a result of a subsequent investigation, and within minutes of the collision, Officers located the involved vehicle and its driver in the City of South San Francisco. The driver of the involved vehicle, Rafael Guerrero, a sixty-four year old South San Francisco resident, was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail for hit and run involving a serious injury. The San Bruno Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is currently investigating this incident.
